October 1926

With effect from 18 October, 1926, the Secretarial Division (S8) allotted to the Directorate of Civil Aviation was merged in the Directorate, which now comprises two main divisions responsible for administrative and technical
work respectively. The Accidents Branch, however, is not included in the Technical Division but will continue to report directly to the Director of Civil Aviation.

RE-ORGANIZATION OF THE JOINT DIRECTORATE OF TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

  1. A revised organization of the Joint Directorate of Technical Development and Scientific Research involving the following changes in higher posts under those directorates was approved with effect from the 1st November, 1926.

  2. Under the new organization a post of Deputy Director of Technical Development has been created and the three former Deputy Directorates of Design, Instruments and Armament have been placed in charge of four Assistant Directors responsible respectively for aircraft, engines, armament and instruments.
