Nunn 18 kW Generating Set |
Description |
The portable generator illustrated above comprises an I8 kW. mobile alternator, driven by a 30 hp Ford V8 cylinder petrol engine. The complete unit is carried on a totally enclosed trailer with a waterproof cowling, mounted on two pneumatic tyred wheels and overslung springs and fitted with automatic over run brake and hand brake. The unit has a wide range of application for isolated work where electric power is required. |
Operation |
When the unit is standing, the weight must be taken off the tyres by means of the four retractable screw jack legstands and the machine levelled up before running is commenced. The power load should be distributed as equally as possible over the 3 phases, with not more than 2 kW out of balance. The complete unit can be towed for considerable distances, at speeds not exceeding 30 mph. After transportation a check should be made of the switch panel mounting to ensure that no movement has taken place. |
