BC = Bogie Centres. GC = Ground Clearance. MPG = Miles per gallon. TC = Turning Circle. WB = Wheelbase. RVT = Radio Vehicle Type (originally knows as Signals Vehicle)
RAF (Stores) Ref Nos were not given in this document but where they are shown, they have been assumed from later versions of AP2782. The descriptions of the bodies marked § have also been assembled by combining data from AP2782A, Section 30 and AP2782D so some elements may not be totally applicable to the bodies in service at the time of AP2782, Volume 1's publication.

| Description | To carry the complete equipment for the Standard Beam Approach (SBA) installation. The installation is not operationally mobile, requiring approximately one month under normal conditions to prepare the site and install the equipment. Normally the equipment is operated 230V, 50 c/s mains supply but if this is not available the main beacon may be supplied from an RVT 346 power vehicle. The two marker beacons are then supplied with power from a 1.25 kVA petrol/electric generating set, two of which are stowed in this vehicle when not in use. |
| Chassis details | See relevant Group |
| Body | Non standard body - The copper panelled and insulated body is fitted with adjustable jacking legs at each corner to stabilise the vehicle when in use. Opening windows in the side and front are fitted with black-out shutters and covered with wire grills. Extractor fans are fitted to the front and rear of the body. The rear of the body is fitted with double opening doors, normally only the centre pair are used, but during loading and unloading operations, the outer pair are capable of being opened to almost the full width of the body. Folding steps and a folding ladder are stowed at the front of the body when not in use. The roof is slatted at each side to provide a walk-way and to provide an even distribution of the load when it is found necessary to stow the aerial masts, normally carried inside the body, on the roof. The bottom half of a lattice mast is hinged to the roof and lies along it in the stowed position. When erected and with its top half attached, it supports a red obstruction light. |
