No 131 Airfield/Wing Personnel, units and locations
It was formed at Northolt as No 131 Airfield Headquarters (Polish) on 4 October 1943 in No 18 (Polish) Wing, comprising Nos 302, 308 and 317 Squadrons. It moved to Deanland; 1 Apr 1944, Chailey on 26 April and the to Selsey on 1 May 1944, with 'A' Party moving to Portreath until 12 May 1944, when it was redesignated No 131 Wing on the same day. It moved to the Continent on 22 July 1944 to begin a nomadic existence through France, Belgium, Holland and finally into Germany. Remaining at Ahlhorn as part of BAFO, it finally returned to the UK in October 1946, disbanding at Hethel on 2 January 1947.
