13 Jul 1940 Instructions received that the Station is to be divided into two schools and a SHQ, wef 7 Jul 1940: -
  • No 1 Air Armament School - comprising Flying Sqn and Flying Training elements, to be administered by No 25 (Armament) Group
  • No 2 Ground Armament School - comprising the Ground Training elements, to be administered by No 24 (Training) Group
23 Aug 1940 The following course were transferred from No 1 Air Armament School to No 2 Ground Armament School: -
  • Nos 50 - 57 (inclusive) Armourers' Courses
  • Junior Armament Instructors' Courses
  • Demolition Courses
  • Plessey Belt Filling Courses
  • COW Gun Courses
  • 20mm Cannon Courses

No 48 and No 49 Armourers' Course will complete at No 1 AAS and all subsequent courses will report directly to No 2 GAS
