17 Feb 1936 Formed on 17 February 1936 at Prestwick.  Operated by Scottish Aviation Ltd
xx Feb 1938 It was placed in No 26 Group
 1 Feb 1939 Transferred from No 26 Group to No 50 Group
 3 Sep 1939 No 12 E&RFTS was redesignated No 12 Elementary Flying Training School in No 51 Group as a Class 'C' school.
 1 Dec 1940 Nos 13 and 14 War Courses were undergoing training at this time
 4 Dec 1940 10 x Indian officers departed
11 Dec 1940 Nos 13 War Course completed as follows: -
  • 25 x passed out
  • 17 x suspended
  • 3 x sick
  • 3 x transferred to No 14 War Course
11 Dec 1940 No 15 War Course arrived: -
  • 15 from No 3 ITW
  • 15 from No 4 ITW
  •  5 from No 5 ITW
  • 10 from No 6 ITW
13 Dec 1940 No 13 War Course, 18 posted to No 3 SFTS
