Retired at his own request

With No 151 squadron at RAF Leuchars he was responsible for 16 Javelins. He was later posted to Boscombe Down where he carried out radio trials on Argosy, Comets, and Shackletons.

Following retirement he spent 5 years at GCHQ and later at the University of Glamorgan, where he became Professor Emeritus and was awarded an honorary doctorate. On leaving Glamorgan he became Lead Community Governor at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital Trust.
