30 Dec 1977:               Assistant Chief of Staff - Offensive Operations, HQ 2nd ATAF.

12 Apr 1980:               Commandant, Royal Observer Corps

24 Mar 1983:              AOC, AHQ Cyprus/Deputy Commander, British Forces, Cyprus.

 Originally entered the RAF as an Aircraft Apprentice in the 57th Entry at Halton. Whilst a member of No 56 Squadron he was the official commentator for their aerobatic display team, 'The Firebirds'.
