His RFC/RAF career was very short, rising from 2nd
Lieutenant to Brigadier-General in the course of WW1. Involved
in the Motor industry from 1905, he raced at Brooklands and having gained RAeC
Certificate No 74 on 2 May 1911, he took part in the Circuit of Britain Air Race. After
WW1, he was Chairman of Chrysler Motors and Dodge Brothers (Britain).
He died after an operation at the age of 44.
