"JACKSON, Lionel Arthur, W/C (31062, Royal Air Force) - Rear Headquarters, Western Desert
After 12 months service as senior equipment staff officer in the Western Desert, Wing Commander Jackson, in September 1942, was reposted to Air Headquarters, Middle East. Three months later he volunteered to resume his duties as his relief had returned to the United Kingdom. He has carried heavy responsibilities throughout both periods of his service and great credit is due to him for the smoothness with which supplies have been maintained. This officer has invariably displayed the utmost devotion to duty while his untiring efforts have set a high standard of efficiency for all branches of equipment organization."
