Citation for the award of the Air Force Cross
"HORNER, George Kenneth, W/C (24121) - Telecommunications Flying Unit, Ministry of Aircraft.
This officer has been in command of an experimental flying unit for nearly two years, during which he has flown every type of aircraft at the unit and has made a point of flying on every class of experiment. Wing Commander Horner, by his example, has done much to maintain the morale of the flying personnel under him."
