Commanded stations in Bomber Command.  In 1946 he was a member of the crew of a Lincoln of the Central Bomber Establishment which undertook a liaison mission to Australasia.

Following retirement, he became an Adjudicator for Immigration Appeals  from 1970 until 1988.
