RAF Coleby Grange


[1943 | ]

RAF Coleby Grange began as a Relief Landing Ground for RAF Cranwell in the late 1930s, but from May 1940 it also played host to detachments of squadrons from RAF Digby.  In May 1941 it was officially transferred to RAF Digby as its second satellite (also known as WCII) in No 12 Group, Fighter Command.

15 Nov 1944 RAF Station Coleby Grange was opened parented by RAF Cranwell in TTC but was used by No 17 SFTS, FTC as well as continuing to be used by RAF Digby

Flying Control was established at the station

No 10 Refresher Flying Course arrived from RAF Cranwell

 5 Dec 1944 No 9 Course finished training and was posted
 7 Dec 1944 No 11 Course reported for training
20 Dec 1944 No 12 Course reported for training
