  • 4 x officers and 6 x NCOs were attached to 44th (Indian) Airborne Division

  • The final group to complete the course at S of JSPT returned to Bikram on 19 May

  • A Glider training programme was due to commence on 16 June but was cancelled due to lack of tug aircraft (No 96 Sqn)

  • 2 x officers and 2 x NCO attended a course at S of JSPT
29 Jun 1945 50 x pilots commenced a light aircraft flying course (9 hours per pilot)
July
17 Jul 1945 Advance party departed RAF Bikram for RAF Khargi Road
August

During this month the following undated events/activities occurred: -

  • 2 x officers and 5 x NCOs were attached to RAF Kanchrapara to test newly erected gliders

  • Aircrew were being detached to the Air Crew Mountain Centre for courses

  • The squadron moved to RAF Khargi Road

  • Commencing on Navigation Flight
  • Moving on to Training Flight (Tiger Moths)
  • Concluding on Harvard Flight

During this month the following undated events/activities occurred: -

  • 2 x officers and 5 x NCOs ceased to be attached to RAF Kanchrapara

  • 29 x light aircraft were ferried to RAF Jodhpur

  • 1 x Horsa was ferried to Kanchrapara

  • 2 x Horsas were ferried to Chaklala

  • All RAF personnel, except 4 x officers, were posted away

  • All Army personnel of No 344 Wing and Nos 671 and 673 Sqns were posted to this unit

  • Army personnel were attached to RAF Arkonam and RAF Mauripur for Air Trooping duties
