Entering the RAF College at Cranwell in 1921, having achieved a score of 5,052 in the competitive selection tests, held in late 1920, he represented at Fencing and Soccer, attained the rank of Flt Cdt Sgt and from where he graduated two years later. His first posting was to No 27 Sqn in India.  Retired to Kenya.
