Directorate of Accident Prevention (DPA)

  1. General policy for the prevention of aircraft accidents; remedial measures and safety education throughout the RAF at home and overseas.

  2. Organisation of aircraft accident reporting procedure; Advice to other Departments and Commands on measures for the reduction and prevention of accidents; Records and Statistics of all RAF aircraft accidents.

  3. Liaison with the Dominions and other Ministries.

  4. Liaison with the USAAF and USN Air Service on accident prevention policy.
